What we take
Computer Monitor & TV Recycling
It can be exciting or perhaps necessary to upgrade your televisions or monitors, but every time you do, there are old ones to get rid of. There are local charities that will take working TVs, but you’ll have to get them there or to the recycling centre yourself. It is even more difficult for businesses as often, with monitors, technology moves on so they are harder to pass on, and you need to have the appropriate hazardous waste paperwork to evidence that you have disposed of them properly.
Computer monitor and TV collection and recycling
If you don’t have the time, it’s easy to dispose of your old TV with Bulman’s Removals responsibly. Our team will come and collect it, making sure to donate or recycle it where possible and handle it properly. We will save you time and effort and deliver peace of mind.
Here’s how it works:
- You can use our enquiry form or call us to get an estimate and understand our availability.
- We will text you when our team is on their way (you can even follow them on Google Maps!)
- Show us the television you want to be removed, and we will confirm the price with you
- When you’re happy to proceed, we process the payment, take the TV away and sweep up after ourselves. If you can’t be there to approve the work, we will even take photos and send them to you
Examples of TVs and monitors we can take include:
- LED/LCD TVs & Monitors
- CRT TVs & Monitors
- Plasma screen TVs
Responsible computer monitor and TV disposal
TVs and monitors contain elements and chemicals that can be harmful to the environment and our health. They also provide materials that can be reused, from plastics to precious metals. Because of those reasons, we make sure your old television is disposed of responsibly. We recycle working TVs and monitors where we can as they are and, take broken ones to recycling centres to be processed. We also issue electronic Waste Transfer Notes for each job and for businesses issue Hazard Waste Consignment Notes, so you can provide evidence that you have disposed of your old monitors and televisions properly.
Why TVs and Monitors are classed as hazardous
TVs and monitors are made of multiple materials including steel, aluminium, copper, gold and silver. Unfortunately they also contain hazardous toxins such as cadmium, beryllium, bisphenol, lead, mercury and various flame retardants. These present risks to people and the environment and so it is imperative that TV and monitor disposal is done properly.
TV and monitor pricing
Due to the reasons listed above, TVs and monitors are additional charge items.
